Hole 2 - Stone Quarry

The second hole has many obstacles which make this relatively short 495 yard, par 5 a challenge. The first obstacle is the tree-lined, crowned fairway. Hitting a good drive can make this green hittable in two, possibly awarding a player with a chance at an eagle. The second shot must avoid the dreaded fescue grasses that lie about 90 yards short of the green. The mounds are sure to catch a ball that is sprayed left or right. The green is a hard sloping, right to left surface, with a hump located in the front middle section.Well positioned bunkers, left and right of this green, demand accurate approach shots. The genius of Donald Ross is readily apparent on these two opening holes. On paper, both holes should be handled in par or less, but don't get careless or your round may get off to a rocky start.
